We are currently open for PhD and postdoc applications related to our APVV Young Investigator grant on drug synergies involving the ribosome.

Your tasks

  • Perform yeast growth assays under various perturbations with emphasis on reproducibility and quantitative characterisation
  • Establish techniques to study regulation of translation under combination of various stresses
  • Investigate the interactions between central processes, such as translation, transcription, intercellular signalling using a combination of genetic, physiological and microscopic assays
  • Computationally analyse your own experimental data as well as data publicly available

Your profile

  • you are a self-driven person, an independent thinker and you are motivated to investigate the molecular basis of life
  • you have masters degree/PhD in systems biology, molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics or a related field
  • previous experience with quantitative/computational data analysis is an advantage
  • you have a track record of accomplished research project appropriate for your career stage
  • you have good communication and presentation skills
